Hello and thank you for stopping by!
Todays card is featuring a bundle set from the new 2019 Stampin’Up! Holiday catalog, Toile Christmas. I thought this was an odd name for a stamp set because Toile is a fabric, from the French word meaning “linen cloth” or “canvas”, particularly cloth or canvas for painting on. When I look at this set it has nothing to do with fabric. Maybe they mean the fabric of Christmas. Who knows!
It’s been difficult for me to get into the Christmas spirit with temperatures still in the upper 90’s where I live. But I need to figure out which stamp set I will use for my personal Christmas cards I will be sending out this year. So here is my first sample:
My base card is Soft Suede cardstock measuring 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″. For the first layer I used Very Vanilla cardstock measuring 4″ x 5-1/4″. The coordinating Toile Tidings DSP is my second layer measuring 3-3/4″ x 5″. I used gold glimmer paper to cut out the image. Something about the gold glimmer paper makes everything so festive. I decorated the DSP with Toile Tidings Glitter Enamel Dots. These little dots come in various sizes. Great to add some pizzazz to a poinsettia. I adhered the image to the DSP using Multipurpose glue. Stampin Dimensionals were used to adhere the sentiment. I also used Stampin Dimensionals to adhere the Very Vanilla cardstock to my base card. For the inside of the card I used Very Vanilla, and I’m so sorry but I forgot to take a picture of it, and stamped the saying ‘May this season be filled with beautiful moments and happy memories for you and those you hold dear’.
Materials I used for this card are as follows:
