Hello and welcome to my blog!
Today’s card was inspired by my good friend Sari. I have known Sari for about 7 years now and I have to say when I met her she became an instant inspiration to me. It starts with a small story about Sari:
Sari has always been a paper crafter. She used to work in a Scrapbooking store where she had access to so many tools, papers, ideas and other materials. Sari also had the opportunity to collect a small fortune of paper crafting materials. After her divorce she found another relationship where she thought she was safe. Unfortunately that wasn’t the case and one night Sari had to make a decision for her own safety and leave the man she thought loved her. She also had to leave all of her scrapbooking materials behind. When I met Sari all she had was a tool box which contained a small assortment of craft items. Because she had to leave so much behind, Sari had to come up with ideas for cardmaking using paper scraps, paint chips, left over paint samples and so on. When I seen some of her work I was amazed. Below is a sample of Sari’s work.
The card below she designed is a simple 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ card. For the card base she used white cardstock. The front of the card had 3/4″ removed after folding. The bottom strip measures 5-1/2″ x 1″. The first DSP measures 1-3/4″ x 3-1/2″. The larger DSP measures 3-3/4″ x 2-1/2″ and the third DSP which is the small strip on top measures 3-3/4″ x 1″. I thought she used a great color combination.
And this is what I came up with:
I used the same measurements than she did but I based my card on the new Gather Together bundle set which just made its debut. Yes, the new 2019 Holiday Catalog is finally here. This is my material list for this card:
