A Touch Of Fall

Hello and thank you for stopping by.

The month of August usually gives us already a small hint of fall being around the corner. The region I live really only has a very small hint. Here lately it’s still a friendly reminder that summer is not over just yet. Today we are battling 96F with a heat index of 106F. So yes, no fall in sight. But it didn’t change my mind to create a card with fall in mind. Let’s have a look:

I used the Country Home Stamp set from Stampin’Up! for this card. My base card is Gray Granite cardstock cut to 5-1/2″ x 4-1/4″. My first layer is a piece of Basic Gray cardstock and I embossed it using the 3D Brick and Mortar Embossing Folder. One of my favorite folders. I had some display paper left over from last years holiday catalog where that set was first featured. I used a little on this card. I have a lot of paper left and I’m happy to sell off 6″ x 6″ country home display paper. Just in case you missed the sale in the 2018 Holiday catalog. I take PayPal and shipping is free. Send me a message or email me if you are interested in buying some of the display paper. Clicking on the image will send you to my PayPal link for payment.

There are 43 pieces of display paper for sale. Let me know how many pieces you like to purchase of a kind.

Getting back to my card. I cut a piece of Real Red Cardstock and adhered that to my first panel with dimensionals (as shown). On a piece of Whisper White cardstock I stamped the can image with black memento black ink and stamped a flower image on top of the can with the same ink. I colored the images with watercolor pencils. I inked the sides of the image display with Real Red ink. This is a very easy card. Please let me know if you have any questions and please leave me a comment. I love to hear from you.

Don’t forget to redeem your BONUS DAYS COUPONS this month. If you placed an order last month and it was $50 (before shipping and tax) you received a BONUS DAY COUPON or even more depending how much you spent. The code was send to you via email. Check your spam folders if you haven’t received any codes. Again I’m happy to help. Don’t let the coupon go to waste. You earned it!!

The new 2019 Holiday Catalog will make its debut on September 4th. Ask me how you can get your hands on a free catalog.

Happy Stampin Everyone and whatever part of the country you are, maybe you have a little taste of Fall. Enjoy it!!

Back To School

Hello Everyone and welcome to my blog.

With exactly one week away for a new school year to start I was inspired by this challenge from the paper players #PP453. All in honor of our hero’s, our teachers! A little story I like to share with you today is that my own daughter, who just graduated college, is starting her first teaching job. She is going to teach 6th grade English. I had the opportunity to help her set up her new classroom the other day and she was so excited about the upcoming school year and how she would use flexible seating for her students and so on. She set up this beautiful and very comfy reading area for her students which makes me want to go there and grab a book for myself. She decorated it with oversized chairs, blankets and a fluffy rug. Her students are going to love it. I couldn’t be more proud of this aspiring new teacher.

Introducing my daughter, she’ll make an awesome teacher.

This is the challenge given to us:

And this is what I came up with:

Now, besides using paper from Stampin’Up! I free handed everything else. No lie! I used an apple template which I found on Google, traced the apple on Real Red Cardstock and cut it out. I punched a small leave out with the Leaf Punch. That’s pretty much it. The cardstock I used for this project is Old Olive, Whisper White, Real Red and Basic Black. I had a piece of checkered display paper and adhered that to the front of the black cardstock piece.

I really would like to hear your opinion on this card.

Butterfly Gala

New month, new challenge!

Hello and thank you for stopping by today. New month, new challenge is my motto for this month. I am participating in another challenge which will expire tomorrow.

This is the sketch which inspired me to a new card creation.

And this is what I came up with:

When I looked at the sketch,  immediately the Butterfly Gala stamp set came to mind. I had some old DSP left from the last Occasions Catalog I thought would go great with this project. My base card is Basic Black cardstock. I adhered a piece of DSP to the base card. The red 2″ wide strip is Real Red cardstock. Next I simply cut out a small piece of DSP using the stitched rectangular shapes. I used the stitched Oval to cut out the sentiment. The sentiment came from the Varied Vases set. The Butterfly Gala set has a coordinating Butterfly Duet Punch (sold separately). My material list is as follows:

joyful butterfly stamp set

Butterfly Gala stamp set – 148580 – $21.00

sweet dual butterfly punch

Butterfly Duet Punch – 148523 – $18.00

vases stamp set

Varied Vases Stamp set – 146644 – $26.00

deep black paper

Basic Black Cardstock – 121045 – $8.75

red paper cardstock

Real Red Cardstock – 102482 – $8.75

If you are interested in purchasing the rest of the Butterfly DSP email me Kerstin@crazyaboutstampin.com. I have a variety of 5 full sheets left. Click on Products to find out how much and see a picture of the Butterfly DSP.

Birthday Wishes

Hello and welcome to my blog. I’m really excited to announce that I won my first challenge. Thank you Tuesday Morning Sketches. This was the winning card.

My next project was inspired again by Tuesday Morning Sketches #514. The below picture shows the sketch.

And this is what I made using the sketch.

Varied Vases was my choice for this challenge. I thought Blushing Bride and Early Espresso cardstock would really go together fabulously. The stitched rectangles added frame to the front image and sentiment. I used some clear epoxy droplets to put some bling to the card. For the vases I used Rococo Rose Ink instead of Blushing Bride because I thought it would bring some depth to the color. I background stamped the flowers onto Whisper White cardstock with Memento Black ink. Next I colored the background images with Watercolor pencils. I adhered the vases with dimensionals as shown in the picture. I really enjoyed this challenge. Let me know what you think.

Materials for this card are as followed:

vases stamp set

Varied Vases – 146644 – $26.00

vase flower punch builder

Vases Builder Punch – 147040 – $18.00

light pink paper

deep brown paper

Early Espresso Cardstock – 119686 – $8.75

ROCOCO ROSE CLASSIC STAMPIN’ PAD

Rococo Rose Ink – 150080 – $7.50

epoxy droplet stickers

Frosted & Clear Epoxy Droplets – 147801 – $9.00

Lighthouse

Hello again and thank you for stopping by. I made it easy for myself today and created a simple card using the High Tide stamp set from Stampin’Up! This very simple card uses only two layers of cardstock, Whisper White and Real Red.

I’m really glad Stampin’Up! is keeping this awesome set around. This set is perfect to create an easy and fast card. I don’t know about you but most of the time I don’t seem to have the perfect card on hand for an occasion. It helps to have a set which makes this task uncomplicated.

For this card I used Whisper White for my base card. It measures 5-1/2″ x 4-1/4″. The first layer is Real Red cardstock measuring 5-1/4″ x 4″. The second layer is another Whisper White piece of cardstock measuring 5″ x 3-3/4″. I used Soft Suede ink for the sand, Real Red ink for the lighthouse, Blueberry Bushel for the birds and sentiment. Granny Apple Green ink was used for the grass. The inside of the card was stamped with Memento Black ink. I just love those birds in this set. It couldn’t be more plain.

Materials I used for this simple card:

beach stamp set

High Tide stamp set – 143006 – $26.00 This is a Two-Step Stampin’ set. Combine individual stamps to create the final image you want in the colors you want.

red paper cardstock

Real Red Cardstock – 102482 – $8.75

Thinking Of You

Thank you for visiting my blog today. I had to skip a day of creating cards because I hit a creative block. I know that happens a lot to Authors and I can fully understand now how and why this happens. I was sitting at my desk yesterday dabbling with several stamp sets to create a new card. And I just hit a block. Nothing I tried was looking great. Colors weren’t matching. I tried to look at others and what they created and nothing came to mind. By the evening I had come up with an idea however I was exhausted and couldn’t finish what I started. After looking this morning at what I had started I was my old self again and it came to me. This card is meant for a friend of mine who currently lives in Las Vegas. I haven’t seen her for about 4 years now. We used to spend a lot of time together but life threw my friend a curveball and she had to move and make some life changes. I do miss her and I dedicate this card to her.

This card features a couple of different Stampin’Up! sets. Woven Heirloom and Floral Essences. I used the new 2019-2021 In-Color Rococo Rose for this card. My base card measures 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″. Next I used a piece of Whisper White cardstock and masked it with leaves from the Floral Essences set. It’s easy to do however a bit tedious. I punched out several leaves with the leaf punch and laid them onto the cardstock. Very gently I dipped a sponge dauber in Rococo Rose ink and smeared it over the Whisper White cardstock. I cut another piece of Rococo Rose cardstock and I had some sheer white ribbon and wrapped that around the piece of cardstock. I punched the leaves out with the leaf punch inked in Shaded Spruce. The flower came from the Floral Essences Bundle inked in Rococo Rose. The sentiment came from the Woven Heirloom set which I framed with the stitched rectangles. The same set was used for the inside of the card. I really like Rococo Rose because it makes this card look elegant together with the Woven Heirloom sentiments.

Material List:

WOVEN HEIRLOOMS BUNDLE

WOVEN HEIRLOOMS BUNDLE – 151093 – $47.50

FLORAL ESSENCE BUNDLE

FLORAL ESSENCE BUNDLE – 151055 – $31.50

Daisy Lane Cutie

Hello and welcome!

I’m so glad you are visiting my blog today. The card I created came from the Tuesday morning Sketch challenge #513.  This is my first time participating in any of their challenges. This was the sketch used to create a card.

And this is the card I made from the sketch.

I used the Daisy Lane bundle set from Stampin’Up! for this project. The colors I choose were Terracotta Tile and Basic Gray. I used Whisper White cardstock for my base card. I embossed the Basic Gray cardstock with the new 3D Brick & Mortar embossing folder. I wrapped Linen Thread twice around the embossed cardstock. For the butterfly I used the Butterfly Gala stamp and coordinating punch. The fern image was stamped in Pear Pizzazz ink ( as shown). Terracotta Tile ink was my choice for the small daisy image which I cut out with the coordinating Daisy punch. For the inside of the card I punched out two small butterflies, one in Terracotta Tile and the other one in Basic Gray, and adhered them in the corner. My material list for this project is as follows:

DAISY LANE BUNDLE

Silhouette Dreams

Thank you for stopping by my blog today and looking at a card I created with the Silhouette Scenes Bundle Set from Stampin’Up!.

For this card I used Pretty Peacock cardstock. For those just tuning in to Stampin’Up!, this is one of the new 2019-2021 colors. And I like to say one of my favorite ones. I layered the base card with black cardstock and then I cut out a piece of Whisper White using the stitched rectangles. The largest die measures 5-1/4″ x 3-7/8″. Pretty impressive. I inked the sides of the second layer. I added another piece of black cardstock to the bottom of my top layer and again cut it out with the stitched rectangles. Next using the Silhouette Scene bundle I cut out the tree. I used Pretty Peacock cardstock for that. I simply stamped the sentiment onto the front panel and done. For the inside I stamped the sentiment in Pretty Peacock and added a piece of matching cardstock to the bottom of the cardstock.
